“It is time for a return to childhood, to simplicity, to running and climbing and laughing in the sunshine, to experiencing happiness instead of being trained for a lifetime of pursuing happiness. It is time to let children be children again.”
― L.R. Knost
My little guy is only a few months old, but I’ve learned so much from him already. I love being his mama. For me, attachment parenting methods have been so wonderful for both me and baby Graseon. We breastfeed, even though it’s been a hard journey, and plan on extended breastfeeding, we bed-share, we baby-wear, we cloth diaper, we read lots of books, and we talk to baby Graeson about God – our amazing Creator.
The characteristics I mentioned above are the most common among Attachment Parenting parents. There are, of course, variations, some families pick and choose among these practices; many do not follow all of them. You will also often find that a lot of AP parents are just generally into anything that is natural. We are often called “tree-huggers”, “granola”, etc. Many of us make our own household and body products, buy organic foods, spend time in nature, and many other “natural” or “back to basics” practices.
What about YOU? Are you practicing Attachment Parenting?
